You'll have to believe me - I was sitting in Hyde Park (without my camera, dammit!) on the day of the Diana Memorial unveiling.  I heard a bike bell.  I looked up.  I saw three cycles, one shaped like a shoe, and the others shaped like boats.  I couldn't get a pic, like I said, but I found this funny pic of a shoebike:

On Wednesday's Today programme on Radio 4, there was a discussion about the possbility of establishing a bike sharing scheme in order to get more cyclists on the road.

The London Bikeathon takes place on 18 July, 2004.  There's a 26-mile course that can be split into one of two 13-mile rides.   The first part of the ride goes from Richmond to Chelsea, mainly along the river.  Section two starts at the Royal Hospital, Chelsea and loops round the City.

This is a charity ride in aid of Leukaemia Research.

June 12-20 was National Bike Week, the UK's annual 'celebration of cycling'.

It looks like a bunch of organised rides and activites aimed at increasing the use of cycling, in accordance with the National Cycling Strategy's goal of quadrupling trips made by bike between 1996 and 2010.
